A New Way To Compot Pagoda Compot Kit with Pure Neem
Oil
The following instructions are quite different from the old
fashioned way of compotting. The only persons who will not approve of this
method are those who havenÕt tried it. It is simple, easy and successful.

The Pagoda Compot Kit contains the following:
- Clear plastic compot with dome cover
- Bag of seedling mix
- Bag of aliflor for drainage
- Label
- 4 oz. bottle of pure neem oil
- 4 oz. bottle of Dyna-Gro K•L•N
- 8 oz. Dyna-Gro 7-9-5 fertilizer
- 8 oz. Dyna-Gro ProTekt
- Step-by-step instructions
- Open the bag of seedling mix and add enough water to cover the mix.
Let stand 2-3 hours or longer to allow the mix to become thoroughly wet.
- Spread the aliflor evenly in the bottom of the compot, the side with
the holes.
- Spread the seedling mix evenly over the drainage material. In the
center of the compot, make a 1/2 to 3/4 inch depression, large enough to
hold the contents of the 125ml or jelly jar flask.
- Remove the stopper or lid from the flask. Please note: the stopper
or lid must not be removed until you are ready to compot the seedlings.
For the 125ml flask, cut the bottom off with a glasscutter. If you do
not have a glasscutter available, wrap the flask in a paper bag and
gently break with a hammer. (Safety glasses should be worn at all times
while breaking or handling broken glass.) Do not disturb the agar or the
plants. Remove the plants and medium as a "clump". Do not try to pick
the seedlings up by their leaves. They may pull out of the agar.
Tilt the seedlings on their side and allow the clump to fall away from
the glass. Set the clump into the depression make in the seedling mix of
the prepared compot.
- Spray the newly compotted seedlings with the following:
a. K•L•N solution to promote root growth. Mix 1 teaspoon per quart
of water. Spray plants and medium well.
b. Pro-Tekt solution. Mix 1/2 teaspoon per quart of water. Spray
both plants and seedling medium well.
c. 7-9-5 fertilizer. Mix 1/4 teaspoon per GALLON of water and spray
plants. Do not mix stronger than 1/4 teaspoon per gallon. Too
much fertilizer can burn your plants.
d. Neem Oil Solution. Mix 1 Tablespoon of pure neem oil to 1 quart
of water. Add 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid to emulsify the oil.
Shake well to mix. After shaking there should not be a brown layer of
oil on top of the mixture, and it should be sudsy. If you see any
brown scum on top, add a little more dishwashing liquid and shake
well. Spray the plants to completely cover, keeping the solution well
shook while spraying. The neem oil will protect the seedlings from
damp-off.
If you are growing your compot inside a heated house where the
humidity is very low, the compot cover can be partially lowered to cover
the seedlings. Caution: The seedlings must have fresh air. The cover
should not be completely closed, but lifted 1/2 to 1 inch at the side
opposite the hinges.
Do not place the compot where it will be in the direct sunshine. This
is especially true if the cover is closed. A closed compot with the sun
shining directly on it can become a solar oven and completely cook the
seedlings.
The compots should be kept warm at all times. The
temperature should be approximately 65-70°F at night and 75-85°F during
the day. If you are comfortable, so are your seedlings. The type of
seedlings and your growing conditions will determine how long The
seedlings should stay in The compot. If you have a few seedlings that
outgrow The others, you may want to put them into individual pots and
re-compot The smaller ones in The same compot.

Remember:
- The compot must never be left to dry out completely.
- The compot must not be constantly soaking wet.
- Water gently but thoroughly, until water flows out of the
drainage holes. After watering, re-spray the ocmpot with the
K•L•N, Pro-Tekt and Neem solutions.
- Do not over fertilize by using the 7-9-5 mixed too strong.
