The meeting started by introduction of Can Tho University to the representative of Twente University of The Netherlands about the Mekong 1000 project targeting at training human resources for development of the Mekong delta region. In turn, Madam IR. L. M (Louise) Van Leeuwen informed a new training program offered by Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), under Twente University of The Netherlands for international students. The program is a two-phase distant training in which international students enable to both enroll in general courses and in advance English course for enhancing their English skills in the early phase at home university connected to Twente University of the Netherlands. In the second phase, students will enroll the rest of the course at Twente University of the Netherlands. 

      On this occasion, the two universities also discussed on research and adaptation to climate change in searching for future collaboration especially the application of high technology in study of climate change.
