L.M (Louise). Read more... International conference on “Urban Sustainability : Adapting to Change” in Makassar city, Indonesia. Written by Administrator    Monday, 23 April 2012        The conference on “Urban Sustainability: Adapting to Change” was held on 17-19 April 2012 in Makassar city, Indonesia to search for solutions for in East Asia cities to develop sustainable ways to cope with challenges of climate change. This is the following of the similar workshop was previously hosted by Can Tho city, Vietnam on 13-15 March 2012.       Delegation of Can Tho city including Can Tho People’s Committee, Climate Change Coping Office (CCCO) of Can Tho city, and Research Institute for Climate Change – Can Tho University (DRAGON-Institute-Mekong-Can Tho University) was invited to participate in this workshop. Participants in the workshop held in Makassar, Indonesia During the workshop, all participants have taken part in discussion sessions to look for possible cooperation in national, regional policies that could help to have action or cope with climate change; to find out best ways of collaboration and practices on climate change research; to search for ideas of expansion and multiplication of existing research as well as development of adaptation options; to identify knowledge of integration of climate change adaptation into urban sustainable development plan. Signing Ceremony of Cooperation Agreement between CTU and IRD, France Written by Administrator    Wednesday, 04 April 2012       On March 7th 2012, Can Tho University (CTU) and Institute of Research for Development, France (Institut de recherche pour le développement – IRD) signed the agreement for research and training. The signing ceremony was hosted by representatives of CTU Rectorate Board, including A/Prof.Dr. Ha Thanh Toan – Rector, A/Prof. Dr. Le Viet Dung – Vice Rector, A/Prof.Dr. Le Quang Tri – Vice Rector, along with leaders of Department of International Relation, DRAGON Institute, College of Environment and Natural Resources, College of Information and Communication Technology and related staff members.
