More recently, Fisheries was splitted to be the College of Aquaculture and Fisheries. The College of Agriculture is responsible of offering training in Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. degrees, conducting research, and transferring technology to communities. The College offers 7 fields of studies for Bachelor degrees, 5 for Masters and 4 for Ph.D. degrees.

Scientific research The College has established cooperation with many national and international universities and institutes to conduct research in acid sulphste soils improment, water resource conservation, animal feed, shrimp-rice system, VAC farming system, plant protection, plant breeding,livestock, tissue culture, IPM, food processing, GIS application. International Cooperation: - VLIR (Belgium) - IRRI - Oxfam America - Oxfam Hong Kong - FAO - MHO (Netherlands) - Ponds (Netherlands) - Danida (Denmark) - SAREC (Sweden) - JICA, JIRCAS (Japan) - In addition, the College has cooperative relationships with Sweden, Australia, Thailand, England, France - The College also collaborates with provinces in the Mekong Delta to solve local problems, protect plants, experiment with new varieties, and improve the problem soils. In addition, the College transfers technology to manufacturing and strives to improve the standard of living in poor areas by helping farmers to apply new technology into their practices.
Development Goals - Training will be met to the needs of the society. The College’s capacity to teach and train will be improved and upgraded. Scientific research for farm products manufacturing will be integrated into teaching. - The College will work to meet the needs for human resource development at the University and in the Mekong Delta. - Scientific research will be focused in the following areas:
