CTU
MISSION
-
To offer undergraduate, masters, and
Ph.D. training programs to meet the current and future social needs
for higher education specializations. CTU will increase its training
programs, the number of students, its teaching, learning, and
management capabilities, and upgrade its physical facilities in
order to become a university which is of equal quality to that of
other universities in Southeast Asia. It also strives to be a
major training center for other countries in the Mekong River
valley. CTU graduates are well-qualified professionals who serve the
society effectively with patriotism, a deep love for socialism, and
good morality.

Besides training, CTU needs to
strengthen its basic scientific research and continue the
development of practical applications. From now to 2005, CTU’s
ultimate objective is to use its scientific expertise to meet the
needs for agricultural, industrial, economic, health, educational,
and social development in the
Mekong Delta.

In order to serve the community
directly, CTU needs to concentrate on disseminating knowledge in
science, transferring technology, expanding agriculture, bringing
scientific and technological advances to production, and on
implementing scientific and technological services which contribute
to the region’s economic development.

Developing relationships with other
universities, research institutes, and organizations in the region,
both inside and outside the country, is another of the University’s
most important objectives.
