Opening Ceremony of the English Access Scholarship Program of the US Consulate General

On March 22th 2015, Can Tho University (CTU) was honored to collaborate with the Consulate General of the United States celebrating the opening ceremony of the English Access Scholarship Program. The opening ceremony was kindly attended by Ms. Rena Bitter, Consul General; Ms. Malikat Rufai, Cultural Attaché and their parents. CTU has been continuing to make efforts to develop foreign languages training, especially and the accompanying staff of the Consulate General of the United States; at CTU’s side were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan, Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Viet Dung, Vice Rector, representatives of CTU’s units; representatives of the local authorities of Hung Loi Ward, and 52 students selected for the program for English language training to serve the world integration process of the Mekong Delta of Vietnam. In his speech at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan, Rector of CTU kindly expressed the highly appreciation and thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United States, the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City with active support to and in collaboration with CTU to help pupils and students with difficulties to improve their English language abilities and other necessary skills.
