4. Educational Areas: The college currently offers eight study programs
in different disciplines including:
1. Mechanical Engineering
2. Civil Engineering for Rural Development

All of above-mentioned programs have a training duration of 4.5 years. During such a period, students are instructed by new teaching methods, greatly benefit from high proportion of practical works on real equipment in the labs or in the fields, and enjoy interesting excursions to industry.
Mechanical Engineering students are directed towards theoretical and practical knowledge of analysis, design, manufacture, operation, maintenance & repair of relevant machine elements, mechanism, machinery and production lines; Renovation of equipment to improve its performance; Investigation & utilization of automated equipment & production chains; Technical management at working institutions.
Electrical Engineering students get insights into applications of electromagnetic phenomena in production, transformation, distribution, effective and safe utilization of electricity; Design and exploitation of electrical systems and networks; Management and operation procedures for electrical equipment of automated production chains; Development of certain automated steps in modern production chains; Technical management at working institutions dealing with power electricity, electrical systems and networks.
Hydraulic Structure Engineering students will focus their study in theory, design & implementation of hydraulic works like bridges, drains, dams, pumping stations, stone embankments to serve the agriculture & to develop the infrastructure for rural areas in meeting requirements in irrigation & drainage, flood prevention, saline intrusion prevention, waterlogging prevention and erosion prevention for river and canal banks; Planning and management of rural hydraulic works and waterway transportation systems in rural regions.
Building Engineering students are characterized by their knowledge of theory, design, implementation and management of , multistory buildings, civil and industrial construction works, bridges/roads projects, planning of transportation networks and urban planning.
Environmental Engineering students emphasize on theory and design of technological processes for treatment of solid-, liquid- and gaseous pollutants from household and industrial disposals; Methods of pollution control for water, air, and soil environment; Management & operation of waste treatment systems; Water resources planning, participation in urban planning together with other people with different specializations; Environmental impact assessment of small- and medium-scale projects for urban development; Suggestions for appropriate solutions and technological models for projects with high risk of giving adverse effects to the environment; Monitoring and measurement of potential sources of pollution.
Chemical Engineering students gain their knowledge of composite and polymer, dye, aromatic agents and growth stimulants for animals and plants; Design, manufacturing coordination, operation, and repair of chemical equipment and unit operations; Technical management at chemical plants or processing factories....
Mechatronic students are prepared for their future jobs with modern technology which is effectively integrated mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, information technology and control theory in making intelligent products and systems. They get insights into design, manufacture, operation, and maintenance of products and systems controlled by computers.
Upon their graduation from the College of Technology – Can Tho University, students will be granted “Engineer” title and can effectively work for almost of engineering classified institutions, organizations, companies, plants, factories and many other related fields.
Students’ accesses to higher education levels (MSc., PhD.) are possible.
Thanks to its talented personnel and outstanding research facilities/equipment, the College of Technology – Can Tho University is able to coordinate several research projects and is willing to extend its full capacity to cooperative researches demanded by the community or industry in many relevant fields.

8. Production and Services:
a. Center for Verifying and Construction Consultation is a steering committee member of Vietnam Network for Appraisal of Construction Works, under the Bureau of National Appraisal for Construction Works - Ministry of Construction. It is one of a largest centers of this type in the Mekong Delta, and is capable of survey, design, consultation, setup of investment projects, setup of tender documents, consolidating design, repair of construction works, appraisal of construction work cost estimation, decorative interior design, supervision of construction works, training and transferring of building technology. .

a wide range of specialized facilities, this center is able to carry out some 147 tests in accordance with National
b. Center for Environmental Engineering and Renewable Energy
Apart from its educational functions, the center also offers environmental technician training courses for surrounding provinces, environmental impact assessment, analysis for main parameters of surface water, ground water, waste water in order to assess their pollution status; determination of basic parameters for designing processes of treatment systems for waste-water or waste matter. In addition, the center can also carry out analyses of parameters of waste gas and noise.
With excellent specialized technical staff and a great deal of modern equipment, the center is fully capable of verifying up to 46 water parameters. Moreover, the center also provides consultant services and technology transfer in biogas cellars which help alleviate environmental pollution in the rural areas and make effective use of energy sources from animal manure.
c. Mechanical Workshop
Besides serving practical
activities and scientific researches, The workshop also effectively extends its
services to contracting works in design, manufacture, and repair machinery/equipment for the whole university
and also for the neighboring communities.
Its products are diversified in design, nice looking, reliable and durable, and especially reasonable in prices.
