Department of Biology

Missions:
The Department of Biology is responsible for the Bachelor training program in Biology. In addition, the department is currently giving General Biology lectures for students in a variety of training programs in the University and also outside the University, including:
- General Biology (A1, A2, B), Human and Environment for the first-year students of Agriculture.
- Basic courses for Bsc students of Bio-Technology and some courses for Msc students of Ecology and Environment.
- General Biology, Genetics for students of the Medicinal and Pharmaceutical University of Can Tho.
Besides teaching, the Department is also conducting basic scientific research in the fields of Microbiology and Biodiversity in the Mekong Delta region.

Facilities
The Department has 5 practical rooms (3 for general biology, 1 for zoology and 1 for botany experiments). Besides there is a botanical garden for outside lab-work studying. Most of the apparatus in the laboratories were bought in the Netherlands and sent to Can Tho, and they are supplemented every year. |
