Introduction

 
In the context of the regional and international economic integration, the need of studying and exchanging foreign laws is essential. More and more foreigners are interested in learning about Vietnamese laws as well as Vietnamese people need to study the legal systems of foreign countries. This is really a fact of social interest. For that reason, the establishment of the Centre of comparative law directly under School of law of Cantho University functioning the research, the formation based on the multilateral cooperated projects is necessary.
With the general objects about the satisfaction of the needs of students, jurists,... who are from the South countries and want to learn about the Asian laws, especially Vietnamese law as well as the needs of students, jurists of the Asian nations, especially Asean nations who are interested in researching into the legal system of Occident, the International Centre of comparative law will organize the short-term or the long-term courses, realize the pieces of research in the form of scientific theme, scientific research documentation,… in order to satisfy the needs of both the home and foreign partners.
The International Centre of comparative law directly under School of law of Cantho University was established in December 2005 whose human resources are also the personnel of the School.
